Holiday Lights in Johnston County
Johnston County knows how to light up the season. Climb aboard a Christmas hayride, wander through downtown Clayton, or make a sweet stop at Meadow Lights.

Meadow Lights – Benson, NC
A Johnston County tradition, Meadow Lights fills more than 30 acres with holiday sparkle. Ride the train, take a turn on the carousel, and save time for the Old Country Store.
When to go: November 20–December 31, daily 5–10 p.m.
Lights on the Neuse – Clayton, NC
Bundle up for a hayride through the glowing displays at Boyette Family Farms, a Clayton holiday favorite.
When to go: Select nights November 27–December 26, weather permitting. Santa is not scheduled to visit in 2026.
Clayton Christmas Village & Tree Lighting
Main Street gets dressed up for the holidays with music, shops, sweet treats, and the lighting of Clayton’s Christmas tree.
When to go: December 3, 5–8 p.m.; tree lighting at 7:15 p.m.
Christmas on Main in Kenly
Spend a little time in downtown Kenly for a hometown Christmas celebration, just the thing to enjoy after seeing Macie Meadows.
When to go: December 5. Check the organizer’s listing for activities and times.
Holiday Lights in Wake County
From garden paths glowing after dark to a small-town tree lighting, Wake County has plenty of ways to welcome the season.

Moonlight in the Garden – Raleigh, NC
See the JC Raulston Arboretum in a whole new light. Stroll through illuminated gardens, enjoy live music, and warm up around the fire pits.
When to go: Fridays and Saturdays, November 6–21, 5:30–8 p.m. Tickets required.
Knightdale Tree Lighting – Knightdale, NC
Join the fun at Knightdale Station Park with local performances, cocoa, cookies, and the countdown to the tree lighting.
When to go: December 4, 6–8 p.m.; free admission.
